Elements and Performance Criteria

1. Form timber shapes
   • Select standard jigs/templates to suit job application
   • Construct jigs/templates to suit required shape
   • Construct components to specifications using hot processes
   • Set up laminating/heating equipment according to SOPs, where applicable
   • Construct and shape components to specifications
   • Ensure final components conform to specifications
2. Determine job requirements
   • Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs)
3. Comply with work health and safety (WHS) requirements at all times
4. Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) in accordance with SOPs
5. Identify job requirements from specifications, drawings, job sheets or work instructions
6. Prepare to form timber shapes
   • Select appropriate bending process and identify components
7. Determine construction sequence
8. Select and use tools and equipment appropriate to job requirements
   • Select standard jigs/templates to suit job application
9. Construct jigs/templates to suit required shape
10. Construct components to specifications using hot processes
